The Tamataane Project is devoted to guiding men on a journey of transformation, nurturing them to embody the integrated and divine self. Through immersive group experiences and 1-on-1 coaching, we cultivate emotional intelligence, build heart-centered communication, discover your soul's purpose, and strengthen brotherly bonds. Our mission is to empower men to excel as partners, lovers, fathers, brothers, sons, and friends, enriching their lives and the communities they touch.

Tamataane, now rebranded as The Tamataane Project, was birthed prior to Nga Manu Wayfinders. It originated amidst the chaos of the pandemic in 2021, in Nicaragua. I initiated the first men's circle and haka, held weekly as part of a 3-month conscious + circus residency. Over the following years, I facilitated two 5-day men's retreats and one 24-hour men's retreat, all centered around a haka my older brother and I created, called Te Tangi Pakanga a te Tangata - The War Cry of Man. This haka was crafted to guide men on a journey into themselves, drawing from Carl Jung's framework of masculine archetypes: the king, warrior, magician, and lover.

The Tamataane Project draws from Māori practices, integrating other modalities such as meditation, breathwork, ceremony, ritual, coaching, and mindfulness exercises. Recognizing the potential to reach a wider audience, both men and women, I, Cyrus Henry, founded Nga Manu Wayfinders. This organization finds its roots in my personal journey and is now based in Aotearoa, New Zealand, following a decade of living abroad—seven years in Sydney and three in Nicaragua. Thank you for accompanying us on this journey.

I felt emotionally constipated… not only did I have a heavy heart… there was so many things going on in my life that I didn’t have the passion or energy to deal with… “I’ve already started to see changes… felt amazing”

Our Clients Say

The facilitators were absent of a top down mentality which I really appreciated. They were able to hold the space and be good guides but at the same time maintain a level with all the brothers and I think that approach really allows to feel safe

Zach, Yacht Captain - Nicaragua

I was super surprised, there was 15 guys, we managed to hold a container where we could express what we wouldn’t even express to our families. If anyone is thinking of doing this, this is a great way to really reconnect with your essential self and move through any blocks that you have

I currently don't have any men's circles operating but am looking to start an online one, if you would like to be part of the send an email saying you would. like to join. I can also come specifically to you and facilitate a men's circle
